Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 06/10/2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to tailoring, alteration, fitting and related services provided by Gentle Touch Tailoring ("GTT", "we", "us" or "our").
Gentle Touch Tailoring is operated by LOUIS ARCHER, trading as Gentle Touch Tailoring.
1. Services
We provide tailoring, alterations, fitting and related services as described or agreed with the customer.
The exact work to be carried out will be agreed before work begins.
2. Quotations
Where appropriate, we will provide a quotation or estimated price before work begins.
A quotation may be subject to change if the garment, materials or required work differ materially from what was originally described or inspected.
We will discuss significant changes to the agreed work or price with the customer before proceeding where reasonably practicable.
3. Measurements and fittings
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information where measurements or other information are requested from them.
Where measurements are taken by GTT, we will take reasonable care to record them accurately.
Tailoring and alterations are inherently dependent on garment construction, fabric characteristics, existing fit and the intended result. We will discuss material limitations where these become apparent.
4. Customer-supplied garments
Customers remain responsible for disclosing relevant information about garments supplied to GTT, including known defects, previous alterations, weaknesses, damage or unusual construction.
We will take reasonable care of garments while they are in our possession.
Where a garment is particularly delicate, valuable, damaged or otherwise presents an unusual risk, we may decline the work or agree specific conditions before proceeding.
5. Payment
Payment is due according to the payment terms agreed for the relevant service.
Where a deposit is required, work may not begin until the required deposit has been received.
Any outstanding balance must be paid before the completed garment is released unless otherwise agreed.
6. Changes to agreed work
If a customer requests additional work or changes after work has begun, this may result in an additional charge and/or a change to the completion date.
We will communicate significant changes before carrying them out where reasonably practicable.
7. Completion and collection
Customers will be informed when work is ready for collection or delivery.
Customers should collect garments within a reasonable period following notification.
[INSERT YOUR ACTUAL POLICY FOR LONG-TERM UNCOLLECTED GARMENTS.]
8. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund rights will depend on the nature of the service, whether work has begun, whether materials have been purchased and applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Further information is provided in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
9. Quality and concerns
If you believe that work has not been completed in accordance with what was agreed, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate the issue and, where appropriate, offer a suitable remedy.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
We will take reasonable care when handling customer garments and carrying out our services.
Where a garment has pre-existing damage, weakness, deterioration or construction characteristics that could affect the outcome of an alteration, we will discuss this with the customer where reasonably practicable.
11. Customer photographs and marketing
We will not use photographs of customers, their garments or completed work for marketing purposes where doing so would identify the customer without an appropriate lawful basis or permission.
Where we wish to use photographs for portfolio or marketing purposes, we will seek appropriate permission where required.
12. Privacy
Information about how we collect and use personal information is provided in our Privacy Notice.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
